
Hana Chang
VIOLIN

Hana Chang was a winner of the 2023 Young Classical Artists Trust and Concert Artists Guild International Auditions held at Wigmore Hall. She was nominated as one of Classic FM’s Rising Stars of 2024, and is a Borletti-Buitoni Fellowship recipient and a member of BBC Radio 3's New Generation Artist scheme 2024-26.
In the upcoming 2025/26 season, Hana expands her growing performance profile with appearances at the Tonhalle Zürich, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Konzerthaus Berlin, Wigmore Hall, and Alte Oper Frankfurt. As part of her ongoing tenure as a BBC New Generation Artist, she will appear with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and BBC Concert Orchestra. Further highlights include debuts with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, SWR Sinfonieorchester, Bremer Philharmoniker, Royal Northern Sinfonia, and Odense Sinfonieorchester.
Hana has performed with orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Prague Radio Symphony, Philharmonie Baden-Baden, Hunan Symphony, Utah Symphony, Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, and Poznań Philharmonic. She is a laureate of the Stuttgart, Yehudi Menuhin, Prague Spring, Beethoven Hradec, Stradivarius, and Louis Spohr International Violin Competitions. In 2024, she was named a laureate of the Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition.
An avid chamber musician, Hana plays frequently at festivals across Europe including the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht, Solsberg Festival, Heidelberger Frühling, Spannungen Heimbach, Rheingau Music Festival, Vevey Spring Classic Festival, and Sion Festival.
Hana currently resides in Berlin and studies with Christian Tetzlaff at Kronberg Academy. These studies are funded by the Nikolas Gruber-Patronat. She continues to be mentored by Janine Jansen with whom she studied at the Haute École de Musique in Sion. She previously studied with Ida Kavafian at the Curtis Institute of Music.
Hana plays on a 1647 Nicolo Amati violin, kindly on loan from the Rin Collection in Singapore.
